Just a quick peek at who Jenni Kayne is…Jenni Kayne launched her eponymous label in 2003 at the tender age of 19. Her refined yet edgy sportswear quickly built her a favorable reputation. In 2007 she opened her first retail boutique in West Hollywood.
Jenni Kayne applies the signature laid-back aesthetic of her popular fashion brand to a striking contemporary house in Los Angeles.
In the living room, a fireplace surround made of board-formed concrete anchors the space, while reclaimed-oak beams frame the glass walls and salvaged-pine siding lines the ceiling; the pendant lamp is by Treasurbite Design, the artworks are by Alison Van Pelt, and the throw is by Hermès.
A vintage Eames chair and ottoman sit next to the custom-made walnut bed in the master suite, which is distinguished by reclaimed-oak ceiling trusses; the half-dome hanging light is by JF Chen, the large painting is by Van Pelt, and the watercolor portrait to its right is by Kim McCarty.
Kayne and Ehrlich purchased the property, a five-bedroom residence in Beverly Hills, six years ago. Enticed by its scale and proportions, they undertook a gut renovation to erase problematic details that loudly proclaimed the structure’s early-1980s vintage, such as unnecessary 45-degree angles and overabundant stainless-steel accents.
The Family Room is designed with clean lines and wide, open spaces, Kayne’s digs have a distinctly modern feel, but natural elements like wood ceilings and reclaimed-oak beams keep it warm and welcoming.
The children in their playroom; the cabinets were custom made by Standard, and the baskets are by Roost from Jenni Kayne.
On the rear terrace, Summit Furniture armchairs are upholstered in a Perennials outdoor fabric. Landscape architect Pamela Burton conceived the grounds.

Found these design ideas on houzz and thought I should share these contemporary firewood storage ideas. Displaying firewood can be such a wonderful addition to an interior scheme. Wood is natural and full of texture which brings out an innate sense of comfort.
In a space with such tall ceilings, it makes sense to store it in a vertical fashion, which drives our gaze upwards to appreciate this feeling of space. Intelligently, they separate the storage space with angled shelves in a zigzag pattern. This is an important idea in its design since it facilitates storage and accessibility to the wood. Without it, it would be impossible to properly rotate the supply. It looks amazing and it’s functional - perfect.
Modern Italian accessory company AK47 has blended fashion and function beautifully in its Flex modern firewood designs.

We have all dreamed of the perfect home and look forward to the day when we can actually materialize them. However, imagining ideas and designs is nothing close to working them out and making them happen when you actually have to do up the interiors of your own home. There are many aspects of interior designing that have to be taken into account, apart from your personal style and preferences, to make your home a perfect extension of your own personality. Here are some ideas to help recreate your ideas and make your home modern and trendy.
If you are a fan of monochromatic palettes, then here are various room ideas that play together strikingly and elegantly. In order to make your room spacious, start by painting the walls white and then you can play around with the interiors by choosing various accessories in different textures. You can even add an element of surprise by placing a colored object in the middle of the room. You could have a dark colored floor and contrast it with a lighter colored sofa. Just try to maintain a balanced interior for the perfect modern and chic look!
